Uğurcan Budak, 24, sits by the window of an ascetic student apartment in Hervanta. He is eating bread with feta and olives for breakfast. In august, Budak moved from Turkey to Tampere to study automation technology. The prevailing November gloom has surprised him. The human rights situation in Turkey is constantly deteriorating, and Budak would like to find employment in Finland after his studies. So far it has been difficult to get to know the Finns, but with Turkish friends, the Hervantian homes get filled with bubbling laughter. He is sad to know that his exchange student friends will be leaving Tampere soon. 2019.
